WHY: because it’s time..
4 years and 4 months ago I was in a very different place as an artist; I was just emerging onto the international scene, touring Europe for the very first time, performing my original songs to new audiences and new cultures in places I’d only dreamed of being.
Every now and then you look on your bookshelf and you find a great book that you haven’t read yet, one that you’ve been meaning to read for ages and you know is good because people have recommended it to you, raved about it, and said ‘you must read this one!!’
Well I went into my ‘bookshelf’ (my laptop) and found a magical gem that has been hidden for ages: years in fact, and not many people have heard it, only a select few. Why? For years I haven’t been ready to release it. I haven’t been ready for the world to hear me that raw and alive. I spent a long time wanting everything to be perfect, so I made a studio album and spent over a year on it working with amazing musicians and producers and engineers. I spent lots of time and money to make something that would be ‘perfect’ to put out there into the world: that was the ‘New Life’ Album – www.cdbaby.com/prita
Since then I’ve gone through many changes from playing in a trio, to a band, to solo again, to using the loop pedal and creating my own ‘band’. I’ve moved from one side of the world to the other following my dreams. I’ve played all over Europe and written many new songs. As an artist I’ve grown and changed so much and I’m finally ready to share that with you.
This special release is a sneak peak of me when I was just emerging as an artist; at my beginning, at the edge of that cliff jumping off into the unknown. This is me in all my rawness, at the beginning of my European adventures, with an amazing audience cheering me on in a wonderful country in Northern Europe: Estonia! 4 years and 4 months ago from 20th Sept 2013.
